ABC Easy as 123

First I have to warn you, since Ethan was just a little baby in my belly he has been a stubborn boy! I knew we would be in trouble because stubbornness runs in both our families, but we just like to call it determined ;)

I've been trying to teach Ethan his ABC's since he was just a little tot. He was not interested in them what-so-ever! At 21 months, old he could name off any animal and tell you exactly what noise they make, but as far as ABC's go, forget it!

He also knew how to count 1 through 10 all on his own. Well until he decided to start counting 1,3,5,1. Did I mention how much he likes to tease too? Once he started that, he refused so say his 123's the right way, stinker!

Anyways, I have been repeating the ABC's to Ethan over the last 2 years, hoping that the more I sang them the more interested he would become and start saying them too. We also bought him ABC books, movies, and puzzles. At first it didn't work. He would just say "I want Mommy to sing them," and that was the end of it. Like I said, stubborn.

You can imagine my surprise when I asked him to sing his ABC's to me in the car last week and there he recited all 26 letters, he missed 1! He sang his whole alphabet from start to finish like he has done it a million times! I was awe struck and completely amazed.

How long was this little guy been hiding this?

When my husband came home from work I asked Ethan to recite them again and there he was signing his ABC's all 27 letters this time! That night he even did it for the video camera!

It's amazing to watch him recite his ABC's with a smile on his face and excitement in his eyes. He is so proud of himself every.single.time. And every single time, my heart is filled with so much joy, I swear it could just burst!

I've found that over the last 3 years, my heart just keeps growing, and growing, and growing. Each time he learns something new, each time he smiles, each time he comes up with an adorable thing to say, it grows. I never knew the love that I could have for one person and how much my heart could grow.  I feel so blessed and proud to be his Momma, stubbornness and all!
