As promised, here is a new My Me Time post! Today we have Marissa from Everyday Lounge Act. She's a wife, momma, student, and still manages to find time for her self. Check out how she does it all:
Hi everyone! I'm Marissa. I blog over at Everyday Lounge Act. I blog about everyday life, crafts, home decor, DIY projects, beauty, all while sipping my sweet tea. I'm a very laid back person, hence the title. I don't take life too seriously, I enjoy every moment given to me. I love comedies, cats, my baby girl AKA miss Sassy, of course Mr. ELA and the beach. Grab a drink & a chair and stay a while!

What do you do for your “me” time?
I'm currently a full-time student & a lot of my "me" time is spent during the day when I'm home alone. I go to the gym, I read novels (not for school), I ride my bike, I blog, I love watching old movies (think the Goonies). I'm pretty casual. You might even find me coloring or painting. (Yes, I still color. Inside the lines.)
Do you take part in activities or hobbies for your “me” time?
My hobbies would include restoring old furniture & cooking.
What do these activities/hobbies mean to you?
They allow me to be creative without being judged.
What do you do to ensure that you get your “me” time?
My me time is really a blessing in disguise for me, because I'm a stay at home mom, but my child is in school from 7:45-4:45. I'm very blessed. With a long day like that, there's no excuse for me not to embrace my me time!
Why do you think it is important for women to have that time to invest in something they enjoy?
Women have so many responsibilities; marriage, mother, chef, chauffeur, teacher, stylist, etc. I think it's important for women to make time for themselves because the one responsibility we tend to forget among our many others is ourselves. Some women think it's selfish to take time to care for themselves, but it's crucial to remember you're actually doing someone else in your life a favor. By keeping your mind sane, your marriage is more likely to withstand setbacks if any. By keeping your health in shape, you're able to keep up with your children. Remember: A happy wife, is a happy life.
Thanks so much Marissa for your post! I love the saying happy wife, happy life! One way to ensure you have a happy wife is to make sure she is getting some time to enjoy the things she loves. Just like Marissa said, it's not selfish to get a break and be yourself outside of all the responsibilities you have.
If you would like to tell us about your me time, please email me!
